Como Secondary College is 6kms from the Perth CBD and caters for students from Years 8 to 12. In recent years it has been consistently ranked as one of the top 50 schools in WA based on student academic performance. It and serves a diverse, multicultural community that contains both very low and very high SEI households. About half of the students come from outside the school's enrolment boundaries, including country WA, to attend its highly successful specialist programs in Music, Hockey, Golf and Enriched Mathematics, Information Technology and Science. These programs take full advantage of the school's proximity to WA's largest university, Curtin University of Technology, the State Hockey Stadium and the magnificent Collier Park Golf Course. The school's international student program is another important part of the school and reflects its outward looking focus that encourages excursions overseas and close links to sister schools in Korea, China and Indonesia. The school provides a caring environment with a strong emphasis on pastoral care through its Student Services Centre. The strong academic program is complemented by a variety of embedded vocational pathways.
