Mypolonga Primary School is situated on the banks of the River Murray, between Murray Bridge and Mannum. The school has four classes consisting of approximately 90 students. Mypolonga, along with Jervois Primary, Tailem Bend Primary, Murray Bridge North Primary and Murray Bridge High School, delivers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. Enterprise learning is a major focus of the school, with all classes participating in enterprising activities culminating in the 'Mypolonga Primary School Shop' and a craft shop servicing passengers from the Murray Expedition paddlesteamer. Turning over $15,000 per year the shop has contributed to outstanding numeracy achievement in Year 7. In 2009 the shop won third prize nationally in a 'Women's' Weekly competition, a Community Initiative of the Year in the Rural City of Murray Bridge Australia Day award and the NAB 'Schools First' award of $50,000. We have successfully achieved validation through the DECS Improvement and Accountability Framework. The implementation of a whole school literacy plan has been the focus of the school for the past two years.
