Highgate School has a long and proud history of success. Our mission is to develop environmentally aware, independent and socially responsible life-long learners who are active and optimistic participants in our diverse society. We offer a dynamic and inclusive learning community that provides opportunities for all children to achieve to their potential. The knowledge, skills and abilities that parents and children bring to the school enable teachers to devise, deliver and review a comprehensive and challenging learning program that emphasises cross-curriculum skills. The current site improvement priorities are literacy, numeracy, science, wellbeing and learning technologies. Specialist lessons are provided in Chinese, expressive arts and physical education along with Greek and Italian mother tongue lessons. Classroom teachers work collaboratively with the teacher-librarian using inquiry/resource-based learning. Both sport and music have a very high focus within the school. The school has a strong international students program. Our school is held in high regard within the local community.
