Trinity Gardens School provides a high-quality education in an enriching and caring environment to develop the whole child. We aim to meet the individual needs of all students and support them to develop their full potential. A curriculum choice of mainstream or Steiner education is offered from Reception to Year 7. Cultural diversity is valued and enriches the community, with more than 30 cultures represented. A strong program supports students with English as a second language. Quality preschool education is offered through our Early Learning Centre and we cater for students with severe and multiple disabilities in a purpose-built facility. Our new children’s centre offers a range of services for families prior to school age, such as health consultations, playgroups and parent support groups. Curriculum improvement, based on current research, focuses on effective approaches supported with whole-school practices – in particular, literacy, numeracy and 21st Century learning. Each student sets individual SMART goals. Inquiry-based learning is supported by higher order thinking and information communications technology enables students to present their learning using up-to-date multimedia platforms. Specialist teaching areas are Italian, physical education and music. ‘The Virtues’ program supports the development of social responsibility and builds character. This provides students with a language to talk about and ways to manage behaviour. Our environmental program runs a productive kitchen garden, worm farms, compost and raising of hens.
