St Jakobi Lutheran School has a proud tradition in Christian education, its origins found in the first settlers of 1838. Its re-opening in 1935 firmly established it as a school of excellent Lutheran education. St Jakobi has 8 classes with wonderful facilities including modern classrooms and a new multipurpose hall. It's a school for the community which provides a caring education, preparing each child for their future. St Jakobi caters for the whole child, placing importance on the partnership between home and school. Along with a solid grounding in literacy, numeracy and Christian Studies we use inquiry-based integrated studies to encourage students to be an active part of the learning process. Dedicated staff ensure the individual needs of each child are met. The school offers Japanese, music and ICT as specialist subjects. We have a strong emphasis on fitness and activity. St Jakobi provides a bus service and OSHC facilities. It is situated next to a Lutheran childcare centre, a convenient option for parents. St Jakobi has a strong focus on community, building relationships that are inclusive and supportive, maintained by a dynamic pastoral care program. Our school is actively involved in local community and hosts the international standard Barossa Airshow.
