Marryatville Primary School was opened in 1884 and relocated to its current site in 1978. Enrolments have grown over the past 10 years and a zone has been established to help manage the growth. We cater for Reception to Year 7 students and approximately 25 per cent of students are from non-English speaking background families. Extra-curricular activities include choir, 'Tournament of Minds', children's art studio, and English, maths, science and computer skills competitions. Our three guiding principles are build community, ambition with honour and enjoy learning. As such, we value student participation in decision-making. All students participate in class meetings and we have an active R to 7 Student Representative Council that meets weekly. Special programs include music, junior and senior choir, instrumental music, PE and drama. French is our Language Other than English. We also offer a variety of out-of-school sporting activities such as netball, soccer, cricket, basketball, hockey, tennis, AFL and volleyball.
