At Sussex Heights Primary School our mission is to provide stimulating, innovative and student centred learning programs rich in values, knowledge and skills in a safe, purposeful and caring environment. We are proud of our students and their high level of achievement in learning and personal development. We provide a broad and engaging curriculum focusing on the developmental needs of each student with English and Mathematics as our core focus areas. Our specialist programs include: Physical Education, Visual Arts, Japanese, Library, Performing Arts and Inter-School sport. Extra-curricular programs include: You Can Do It, Outdoor Education-Camping, Life Education, Fire Education, Religious Education, Swimming and Instrumental Music lessons. The school has fourteen equivalent full time staff including: the principal; thirteen teachers and five education support staff. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and commitment to our school community and we aim to build an effective partnership with all students and parents. Our modern facilities include: bright, spacious and air-conditioned classrooms; equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers, complemented by extensive grounds and shaded adventure play areas. In April 2011 the school will complete a significant capital works project comprising of new classrooms, an administration centre and outdoor sporting facilities.
