Mapleton State School, established in 1899, is located on the Blackall Range, inland from the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane. Our well-maintained, spacious grounds and buildings are the envy of other schools. Our motto at Mapleton State School is 'Top of the Range'. We live up to our motto by reinforcing the core values of the school which are outlined in "The Mapleton Way": Care for Yourself, Care for Others, Care for your Learning, and Care for the Environment. Our facilities include, as well as classrooms, a working observatory, music room, hall, new resource centre with computer lab, covered outdoor learning areas and an environmental area centred on a nearby creek. Out of School Hours Care, run by PCYC, is located on site in one of our classrooms. A local tennis coach uses our court to provide lessons for interested students, and a private tutor provides weekly piano lessons in the music room. As a relative small school (205 students), one of our strengths is the positive relationships that are developed at the school between staff, students and parents/carers. We attribute our good reputation to having dedicated teachers, well-behaved students and active parents who support the school. As a school community, we believe in working together to achieve the best possible learning outcomes for our students, as well as creating a safe, caring and friendly environment for all school community members. The school plays an important role in our small community, welcoming volunteers, participating in community events such as ANZAC Day, and offering school facilities for community use.
