St Ignatius School is a P-7 primary school established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1903 in partnership with the only Jesuit Parish in Queensland. The St Ignatius mission is to provide an active, well resourced and welcoming environment for learning.All curriculum and enhancement activities are based on a faith-centred approach to lifelong learning. It is a place where children are listed to, feel safe and are valued. The school environment empowers learners to be part of a community where every person can achieve success. Specialist programs include speech and drama, instrumental music, studies in music and dance, choir, chess, robotics, speech therapy, perceptual motor, public speaking, LOTE (Italian), debating, art, sporting competitions, studies of our Aboriginal culture, Asian studies, social emotional resilience and environmental sustainability.
