Malvern Central School is a dynamic Prep – Yr 8 school where students achieve excellence and are nurtured in a caring learning environment. With a current enrolment of 580 students, the school operates on Park Street and Spring Road sites in between the beautiful Malvern Gardens. The school has a leadership team of 3 principal class and a teaching team of 41. Our priorities are literacy and numeracy, using VELS as our framework while also valuing the broader curriculum to cater for the needs of all students including Physical Education, Japanese, Art, Performing Arts, ICT, Camps, Instrumental Music and Vocal tuition, Robotics and external competitions in Science, English and Mathematics. There is a strong emphasis on student leadership. A special feature of our Secondary program, our City Campus experience, allows the Year 8 students to spend 5 weeks of Term 4 at the City Campus, exploring city-based research tasks and links with industry. The school appreciates parent and carers' involvement and works to strengthen relations between the school and its community . The school is undergoing a major $3m refurbishment of its classrooms to support flexible learning spaces where teams of teachers will work with students, personalising their learning. ICT hardware including PC’s, laptops, I Pads, IWB’s and netbooks form part of the learning tools available to all students. Our school seeks to support students’ learning through 21st century learning programs.
