Distance Education Centre Victoria (DECV) is a P-12 Government School. DECV provides for students who are unable to attend a regular school or cannot access a subject in their own school. The school's enrolment in 2010 was 1211. The school had 128.7 staff (EFT). This included 3 Principal Class, 110.2 teachers and 18.5 Education Support staff. The school is committed to continuously improving our teaching and learning practices to ensure that students are engaged and able to achieve their potential. DECV improvement strategies are focussed on lifting literacy and numeracy achievement levels across the whole school and the use of ICT for student engagement and collaboration. Due to the nature of the school and clientele of the DECV, not all student performance data for enrolled students is able to be incorporated into the Government School Performance Summary. However, DECV does report on the progress of every student and undertakes all school accountability measures. In 2010, DECV continued to develop the use of Web 2.0 technologies to increase student engagement and success at both primary and secondary levels. We also have a focus on using student feedback at all levels to ensure that our programs are meeting student needs.
