St Michael's is a Catholic parish primary school with a student intake from parts of Glen Iris, Burwood, Alamein, Ashburton and Ashwood. St Michael's was established and maintained specifically to serve, and be an integral part of, the St Michael's Parish community. We positively and actively recognise the strength of our vibrant community and are enriched by the partnerships between staff, parents, students and parish. We firmly believe that our school community-teachers, staff and parents-are most effective when the working together to educate the whole child emotionally, academically, socially and spiritually. A notable feature of the school is the emergence of a strong and focused learning community vision which is evident in the improvement in student learning and in student's capacity to articulate their learning strengths and achievements. Our students enjoy and value their supportive and encouraging teachers and staff work together collegially to improve student learning outcomes. At St Michael's we aim to provide a physically safe and emotionally secure environment, where each child feels accepted and respected, and is challenged to work to his/her full potential.
