At John Fawkner Secondary College our vision is" to provide a dynamic learning environment that engages students who work to achieve their personal best in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation.” Jonh Fawkner Secondary College is a small coeducational secondary college, which operates within a distinct geographical area. In 2010 the enrolment of was 400 students (with 88 of these students enroled in VCAL Specialist Sports Program ) and 32 full time teaching staff. It opended in 2010 replacing the old Fawkner Secodary College. As a re launched school the College implemented its new strategic plan for the next four years which aims to totally rebrand the school through the DEECD "Project Excellence" initiative so as to further improve the learning outcomes of all students.John Fawkner College manages to have a good range of VCE studies a comprehensive VET program, mainstream VCAL and a sports specialist VCAL program. Over the last two years there has been focus on on improving the Literacy and Numeracy skills of all students. The curriculum has been redesigned to offer students a structure more closely aligned with the requirements of the VELS, and the implementation of welfare programs reflective of the college’s strategic intent were also introduced and consolidated during the course of the 2010 school year. New programs to attract and engage students such as the Soccer & Netball Academy, Enrichment Program and Performing Arts Program were also introduced.
