As the original secondary education provider in the town, Shepparton High School has proudly served its local community for more than 100 years. The current enrolment is 914 students and the student profile is a complex one that includes indigenous students, deaf and hearing impaired students, increasing proportions of students where English is their second language (ESL), in addition to a number of new arrivals to Australia. It is one of twenty one schools in the Shepparton Network of the Hume Region. The school offers an extensive number of pathways particularly in the senior school, with the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Vocational Education ad Training (VET) courses and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) the major options. The staffing profile for our school includes 74.5 EFT Teaching Staff and 27.5 EFT Educational Support Staff. Teaching staff comprises: 1 Principal, 2 Assistant Principals, 8 Leading Teachers, 74 teachers and 3 para professionals. The school runs an impressive range of activities that complement the formal classroom program. Of particular note are the music program and the range of opportunities available in sport. Facilities are continually updated, and a new Science Centre will be completed in May 2011.
