Westall Secondary College is strongly committed to valuing each individual including their talent, ability and background. We believe that all individuals can learn and can work towards achieving their personal best. The college is committed to innovative practice and in 2010 was one of about 8 schools to trial the use of i-pads with its year 7 cohort. The college also commenced work with the Resilence Foundation and undertook a whole school survey to ascertain the level of assets students had that promoted resilence. Demographics place the school toward the upper end of like group 9, with the proportion of students in receipt of an Educational Maintenance Allowance remaining constant at around 61% over the past four years. The proportion of students from a language background other than English has remained at 73% for the past four years and is a defining feature of the school. The school is a culturally rich and diverse learning community that is highly regarded for promoting harmony and social justice. The school has 66 equivalent full time staff: 3 Principal class, 42.5 teachers and 17.95 Educational Support staff. The school has a well structured International Students Program that continues to thrive and the Westall English Language Centre that serves new arrivals.
