St Francis de Sales College is a Catholic R-12 co-educational College located in Mount Barker. The Sisters of Mercy established and taught at the school from 1902-1976 and still remain connected through our Mercy charism. The College aims to nurture in all students an appreciation of God's gifts, a passion for learning and a commitment to personal excellence. The example of our patron saint, St Francis de Sales, inspires us to work with love, patience and perseverance to ensure that our community is united in holy friendship. Our enrolment is around 960 students. Students experience quality learning programs that enable them to leave the College equipped to be active participants and meaningful contributors to our global community. Catering for students from their first days in Reception to the completion of secondary schooling at the end of Year 12, the College provides a unique opportunity to support students and families through their entire school journey. In 2010, 96% of our Year 12 students gained their SACE and 80% were awarded their first or second choice of university or TAFE courses. The College offers a growing number of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses, a strong student leadership program, and various co-curricular and enrichment programs to develop the intellectual, spiritual, social and physical well-being of each student. Students who attend St Francis de Sales College come from the Adelaide Hills region and outlying areas, and the College offers extensive bus services to support students accessing the College programs. Recent nC will be opened in 2012 to accommodate the growing needs and aspirations of our senior secondary students. Out of School Hours Care is available before and after school. A strong partnership exists between the College and the Mount Barker/Strathalbyn Catholic Parish as well as with our parent community and local business and industry partners. School website link
