Terra Sancta College is inviting, inclusive and just. It values teaching and learning and the partnerships forged between all members of the community in the education process. We aim to develop all students through a broad academic curriculum that focuses on the students’ needs. Student enrichment is focused through stage learning which has been assisted through the various Professional Learning Communities that exist at Terra Sancta. In particular there has been a strong emphasis on our incoming Year 7 students, to ensure a smooth transition from Primary to Secondary education through our middle school program. This program centres around two core teachers educating one class for the majority of their subjects creating a strong sense of belonging and community. Stage 5 (Years 9 and 10) students work in agile learning spaces with teachers dedicated to developing the student-centered learning approach that commences in Stage 4. Stage 6 (Years 11 and 12) is located at the Nirimba campus and students are exposed to a unique educational opportunity as they are part of the Nirimba Education Precinct including Wyndham College, Technical And Further Education (TAFE) and the University of Western Sydney. These expands opportunities for students to undertake TAFE and university courses as part of their senior studies. National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) results for literacy and numeracy place the school in equal bands with other similar schools, with value adding occurring between Years 7 and 9 in areas such as writing and comprehension, while School Certificate and Higher School Certificate (HSC) results show that student performances are continually improving. In particular at the HSC level our students have performed extremely well in a broad range of subjects. There are also community/social and spiritual pathways that help develop the whole person, plus a comprehensive pastoral care structure which ensures that all students are safe and well cared for whilst at school.
