Essex Heights Primary School is situated in Mount Waverley, Melbourne. The school engenders a culture of connectedness and creativity and whilst it is focussed on developing literacy in all realms, including technology and relationships, students are actively involved in learning programs covering a wide range of domains. Through the 'Building Futures' program, completing in mid 2012, we have rebuilt our entire school so that all children have access to brand new 21st Century classrooms designed as flexible learning spaces. This regeneration of the school includes the integration of technology in each room and the inclusion of 'collaborative spaces' adjacent to each classroom. We are very pleased to be moving into new, modern teaching spaces, that reflect the 21st Century focus of our curriculum and programs. In addition to the core curriculum delivered by classrom teachers, we have three 'specialist' teaching areas. Visual Arts is conducted in a newly upgraded 'Art Room' which includes a kiln and ceramics classes. The Sport and Phys Ed program ensures all children develop a love and knowledge of sport as well as building their coordination and personal fitness.
