Goroke P-12 College undertook its school review in 2010. It was an excellent opportunity to reflect on our progress in the areas of student learning, student engagement and transition. From 2011, we are still maintaining a focus on literacy and numeracy improvement as well targetting student engagement by developing improved curriculum and establishing individual learning plans for a range of students. Our BER building is finally finished and we now have a wonderful new resouce for our year 7 and 8 classes as well as a library and assembly space. Student, parent and staff opinion data all reflect many improving trends. Technology has become an integral part of our school's curriculum. Not only through the 1:1 laptop / netbook programme we have running from years 3 to year 12, but through the extension of the video-conferencing classes we have at year 11 and 12 VCE curriculum. Currently we have 1 teacher delivering year 12 Physics to 3 schools in the region. We are also receiving 4 other VCE classes from other schools, extending the breadth of curriculum we can offer. Our 2 videoconferencing units are busy catering for these external classes as well as some professional development receival and regional / school meeting schedules. Our student population has actually increased over the past year due to an increased intake of students from the Natimuk area, particularly in the secondary area. This has halted temporarily our slow but steady decline of student intake. The school's workforce profile is: 2 principal class, 14.6 teachers and 4.5 Education Support Offficers.
