St Canice's Catholic Primary School provides a Christ-centred education for all our students which develops their spiritual, academic, emotional, social and physical potential. Our students interact and work cooperatively and are encouraged to share ideas, clarify their understandings and reflect on their learning. The Religious Education program allows the children to grow in their knowledge of God and their relationship with Jesus through the implementation of the Parramatta Diocesan program ‘Sharing our Story’. We have an active prayer and liturgical life that is celebrated throughout the school year. Social justice also has a strong presence as we constantly strive to help those less fortunate than ourselves and live our life in a Christ-like manner. Our school curriculum offers a wide range of experiences, which are designed to meet the learning needs of the students. We continue to have a strong focus on developing literacy and numeracy skills. In the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) results, we continue to perform very strongly against national standards. As an element of school development we analyse the results of the NAPLAN tests and set in place programs to address all areas of need. The school is underpinned by an understanding that schools are about the growth of children and that their world is immersed in technology.
