The Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School strives to educate young people in a loving way to prepare them for a life of learning and worthwhile work in the modern world. We provide kindergarten through year 12 VCE in a nourishing and ethical community. We seek to bring the students to the freest expression of their individuality, believing that every child is unique, eternal in their essential nature, and has in their destiny a life of joyful service to humanity. Essentially we work with age-appropriate education that recognises the singular qualities of each step in human development. All children are immersed in music and art as a milieu in which we pursue a rigorous study of mathematics, the sciences and humanities. The strength of our curriculum lies in the cultural breadth of our studies in all subjects, and keeping the full range of subjects for all students until VCE. This results in our students' exceptional success both in the more academic areas of science, humanities and arts, and in the performance of music and drama. Notably our students carry into life a powerful social ethic and environmental consciousness which shapes their choice of profession and further education.
