Mannering Park is a community school that values strong home/school partnerships and has a proud history of incorporating Aboriginal Education across all Key Learning Areas. Mannering Park has 298 Kindergarten to Year 6 students. Students are supported by competent, caring staff members who individualise learning to support all areas of development: academic, social, emotional, behavioural, sporting, cultural and citizenship. NAPLAN results identify that most Year 3 students fall in Bands 2 to 5 for Literacy whereas Year 5 students fall across all bands for Literacy. A School Learning Support Co-ordinator from the Lakes Learning Community supports students to improve both Literacy and Numeracy throughout the year. Two School Learning Support Officers for Aboriginal Students are employed to improve the learning outcomes of our Aboriginal students and build cultual and community partnerships. Reading Recovery was introduced in 2008. Strategic Teacher Professional Learning throughout 2009 to 2011 has challenged teachers' teaching practices through Quality Teaching, technology and Literacy to improve outcomes for all students. Mannering Park had been a National Partnership school for Literacy until the end of Semester One 2011.
