Watsonia Primary School is a small school which is situated in the quiet residential suburb of Watsonia, sixteen kilometres northeast of Melbourne. The physical environment of the school and its surrounds are spacious, well-developed and attractive. The school site is shared with Concord Junior School, which operates independently of, but in cooperation with Watsonia Primary School. Watsonia Primary School is student focussed offering all students the opporunity to achieve academic, creative, emotional and social success. Our school culture is based on the 16 Habits of Mind which provides a sound philosophy for student engagement and continuous growth and learning. The school has a comitted 'teaching staff' and 'support staff' which comprises Integration Aides, Student Welfare Officer and Business Manager.The school has 17.09 equvialent full time staff: 1 Principal,10.4 teachers and 5.69 Education support staff. We offer a wide range of curriculum opportunities for all students from Prep to Grade 6, including specialist LOTE Italian, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Physical Education.The recent inclusion of a large multi purpose hall and music centre provides excellent space for physical activity, student learning and community involvement.
