Cranbourne West Primary School serves an established, low income, residental district in the South Eastern Growth Corridor. It is a large, well resourced school supported by a dedicated staff and a committed community. Our school provides a well balanced educational program emphasing the development of Literacy, Numeracy and Social Competency skills. These skills are developed through a 'Big Ideas' framework encompassing ICT, Inspiring Teaching and Deep and Profound Learning, Learning Communities and Local and Global Citizens. Classroom teaching remains the school's focus with the implementation of Learn by Design, which has tied together all the elements for effective pedagogy utlilising the new learning spaces in our school. Students are encouraged to function independently while continuing to 'live' the school's values of Trust, Respect, Learning and Sense of Humour. All members of our school community have received a copy of our 'Living our Values' booklet which clearly outlines the expectations from our parents, staff and students to live our values. Cranbourne West has the following equivalent full time staff; 2.0 Principal Class, 36.2 Teaching Staff and 12.72 Education Support Staff. The school participated in the 2008 Building Futures upgrade and has just completed an additional upgrade via the BER program.
