Katandra West Primary School is located in the Goulburn Valley irrigation area 25 kms from Shepparton. Katandra West currently has an enrolment of 75 students. Along with the Principal we have 4 full time teachers, 4 part time teaching staff and 2 educational support staff. Our recently renovated classrooms and a new open plan building provide a spacious and engaging learning environment. Our school offers specialist facilities including Art, Music and Science as well as a Computer Lab and a well stocked Library. Katandra West believes that the success of each child is the result of a partnership between students, staff, parents and the local community. Katandra West is part of the Shepparton School Cluster that provides opportunities for a range of learning experiences for both staff and students. The school aims to provide a happy, safe, stimulating environment and is structured around basic assumptions: children are individuals and develop at their own rate; children learn best through challenging first hand experiences; the more stimulating the educational environment the greater the motivation for learning; parents and community members can contribute much to the educational process; children will develop an acceptance of differences and co-operation, with concern for others.
