Cana Catholic School is a growing primary school in Hillside in the outer north-western suburbs of Melbourne with an enrolment of approximately 320 students. The school was established in 2004 as the third primary school within the Sacted Heart/Emmaus Parish. The Sisters of St Joseph began the original school at Sacred Heart, 55 years ago. The spirituality of Mary MacKillop and the Sisters of St Joseph has been an integral part of the culture of Cana educating children and supporting our families. Our school/parish philosophy is 'We Pray Together, We Work Together and We Share Together'. The main focus at Cana is to implement a curriculum which provides engaging and rich learning experiences focusing on skills and competencies to develop young people capable of making positive contributions to society in the future. We work as a whole community to foster positive relationships through an effective well-being program. Our parent community is committed to being involved in the life of the school and parish though accepting a ministry which reflects our school motto, 'Do What Jesus Tells You', and gives life to the teachings of Jesus.
