Situated in the northern region of the Melbourne archdiocese, St Peter's Catholic Primary School has a student population of approximately 450. It is a caring, supportive learning community in which all families are invited to be active participants. Our Religious Education program, with its emphasis on gospel values, is a high priority for our teachers, instilling respect, empathy, compassion and reconciliation. Our student leaders program encourages an awareness of social justice issues affecting children throughout the world, and provides our students with a voice on justice issues. Our behaviour management approach is based on the restorative practices model, placing positive relationships and reconciliation at the forefront. We nurture co-operation and independence by providing opportunities for every student to achieve their personal best. With our emphasis on positive learning choices, St Peter's offers young people the opportunity to participate in contemporary teaching and learning experiences. In conjunction with our academic curriculum, students develop social and emotional skills through programs that complement the design, implementation and evaluation of our social skill-building and comprehensive anti-bullying program. We are currently implementing the You Can Do it program which focuses on five key foundations for success: organisation, persisitence, confidence, getting along and resilience.
