Humpty Doo Primary School is located 40km south of Darwin in the rural area. The school has a diverse student population that reflects the multicultural diversity of the surrounding community. Approximately 15% of students identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 25% of students have Vietnamese, Thai, Filipino, Indonesian, Cambodian, Spanish, Dutch or Chinese language backgrounds. The school also has a Special Education Annexe catering for students with high support needs. Students in the annexe are included in mainstream classes and activities where appropriate. Additional specialist programs at the school include English as a Second Language, Well Being, The Arts Sports and Fitness and Library Studies. Humpty Doo Primary School has a policy of multi-level classes and uses cooperative teaching and learning strategies such as Tribes TLC? and restorative practices such as Real Justice. The school is also a Charles Darwin University Teaching School.
