Stuart Park Primary School is located in the Darwin suburb of Stuart Park, close to the city centre.A large number of students are from defence force families and some children travel by bus and ferry from across the harbour at Cox Peninsula. The school has a Defence School Transition Aide who provides a link between the school and defence force families in supporting families and students as they become part of the school community.The school promotes a culture that respects others and helps children to grow strong both academically and socially, and endeavours to challenge children to achieve their personal best at whatever they take on. Stuart Park Primary School provides support to students through intervention reading programs , its Literacy and Numeracy Support Program and a buddy program where classes in the upper primary area adopt an early childhood class to work with. The school also has two classes from Nemarluk School on the school campus. These special needs students attend classes throughout the school with special assistance. The school has an Arts focus with specialist Visual Arts and Performing Arts teachers and a strong music program. Stuart Park Primary School has a close partnership with the surrounding community and provides an after school care program. The school is also a Charles Darwin University Teaching School with several university students completing their school practicums here each year.
