Thornlie Senior High School was established in 1971, and is situated 16 km south east of Perth. It is a comprehensive senior high school catering for Year 8 to Year 12 students. Thornlie SHS is a Specialist Sports School (Rugby), has an ICT focus with a Cisco Systems Academy and is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) under the auspices of the Australian Quality Training Framework. Vocational courses are offered in seven industry areas across fourteen certificates, recognised nationally through the Training Accreditation Council. The school's population averages 1100 with 80 specialist teachers and 32 ancillary and contract staff.
