Kyabram P-12 College was established in 2009 from an amalgamation of local schools. The College offers a comprehensive education from Prep to Year 12. The current enrolment is 1211 students. Our College has 127 equivalent full time staff: 5 Principal Class, 95 teachers and 27 Education Support Staff. Positive relationships are important to the College with emphasis being placed on the College values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Doing Your Best and Community. Student relationships are enhanced through our positive behaviour support initiative. Our newly formed College Support Group underpins the wellbeing of our College Community. The College values its partnership with the parent community as a vital means of building student connections. The Kyabram P-12 College Parents Club is an active and vibrant group who meet regularly to support the College. Student learning has been supported through the appointment of our 13 Leading Teachers with a major focus on Literacy and Numeracy. We work closely with our learning coaches to also improve literacy and numeracy outcomes. Our focus on reading and numeracy in 2011 has resulted in improvements in every year level that did the NAPLAN test. In 2010 the College saw the commencement of the first of the new facilities. The first stage, a building in the Year Prep - 2 community, is now completed and the Year 10-12 village also commenced at the end of 2010. This building is expected to be completed by the end of term 1 2012. A small cohort of indigenous students are supported through the Wannik strategy and we have a strong connections with their families through the Kyabram and District Local Aboriginal Network (KADLAN). Our College has continued to participate in the 'Netbook' Program and we will have all of our Year 6 to Year 11 students with a netbook by the beginning of 2012.
