St Columba's is committed to the spiritual, academic, social, cultural, emotional and physical development of each student. We aim to achieve each child's full potential as individuals and as responsible community members actively creating a caring Christian environment' we emphasise what we strive to achieve. Academic effort, improvement and achievement are highly valued. Programs operating in the school include learning support, ESL, SWELL (Literacy), You Can Do It, Parent Assisted Learning and gymnastics. Music lessons are taught by a specialist teacher. The school choir performs at a number of events. We also provide opportunities for participating in the celebration of Masses and liturgies, Junior Vinnies, International Competitions, Maths Olympiad, debating, and school musicals, The Pastoral Care and Behaviour Management Policy emphasise respect and understanding, affirmation, celebration, a sense of justice and procedural fairness. A focus is the acquisition of skills through daily physical activity. Students have the opportunity to compete in a range of sports through school, regional, diocesan, and state levels. The school maintains a close association with its founders, the Sisters of Mercy, and actively participates in parish, diocesan and local community events.
