The heritage buildings of Caulfield Primary School provide generous learning spaces with a kindergarten on site. The school buildings are continually being improved and we have recently completed the building of a new multi-purpose hall. A masterplan is being prepared to further improve the outside environment, in which a safe and secure environment is provided and children can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. Caulfield Primary School has a strong focus on academic, personal and communication technology learning. The school is currently reviewing and refining its approaches to teaching and learning to ensure the needs of all students are effectively addressed. In addition, our school operates a bilingual program in Japanese. The immersion approach involves a number of curriculum areas being taught in the Japanese language. It also develops a multilingual mindset and an aptitude for global and multicultural citizenship. The school has a strong sense of community with high levels of parental involvement in many aspects of school life, including classroom, fundraising and social activities, to support innovative and ongoing improvements. With 114 children in 2010, the school had one Principal Class Officer, 5 classroom teachers, 2 Japanese bilingual teachers and 5 Education Support staff
