Students with a sensory or intellectual disability have access to Support Unit facilities which develop individual learning plans focused on the transition of students from school to work. A strong Aboriginal Education program supports students in all years and is directed towards literacy, numeracy and cultural understanding. Vocational Education has expanded at Lismore High and new Trade Training facilities in Hospitality, Furnishings and Metal and Engineering complement the existing Department of Education and Training programs in the school. The school is part of the Lismore Community of Secondary Schools that provides the widest and best resourced curriculum model to students in the Lismore and Northern Rivers communities. Lismore High offers the only Secondary Dance Program in the local area. Students study Dance in School Certificate and Higher School Certificate contexts.
