Our mission continues to have the objective of providing high quality learning in a caring environment which enables students to be socially responsible life-long learners. School values of excellence, respect, teamwork, equity, inclusion and integrity are reinforced and provide a positive context for curriculum delivery by a highly experienced and professional staff. Situated in Cheltenham, the school has an enrolment of approximately 120 students in 2011 with a significant percentage of families receiving EMA and having a rich multi-cultural flavour with 22 different language backgrounds represented within our student population. Our main curriculum focus continues to be Literacy, being supported in 2010 and 2011 by a Literacy Coaching Program. In 2011, we are increasing our focus upon Numeracy curriculum and Differentiating our Teaching to better meet more individualised student needs. Students continue to benefit from ready access to Information and Communication Technologies and staff actively use the Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom which lift the level of engagement for students, leading to improved outcomes. The completed “Building the Education Revolution” facility is being developed as an Early Learning (Prep to Year 2) Centre featuring a “Playing to Learn” start to each day and funding through the “Better Schools Today” Program is being used to create more open and adaptable learning spaces in our long-established building.
