Norwood Secondary College, in the City of Maroondah, is a single campus coeducational Years 7-12 College with an enrolment of 1075 students. The College caters for the educational needs of students from a wide range of primary schools in the local community and values the positive relationship that is established with these schools. College data indicates it performs well above 60% of Victorian state secondary schools in all areas measured. The College will renew its emphasis on student performance and leadership throughout 2010 and beyond. This will extend to all year levels and will involve significant partnership with Parkwood Secondary College, our closest neighbourhood state secondary school. The College has a ceiling of 1100 students and cannot accommodate demand for entry into Year 7. Each year since 2003 the College has been unable to accept enrolment from a significant number of students/families seeking entry. The College employs 80.9 EFT (effective full time) teachers. Of these, 55.5% are female, with 44.5% male. Since 2007 this has moved towards more equal percentages of female and male staff.
