Everything we do at Emmanuel College is aimed at supporting the growth and learning of the students whom we serve. The St Paul's Years 7-12 campus in Altona was founded by the Marianist Order. The recently established Notre Dame campus in Point Cook will reach Year 12 in 2013. The Marianist vision for quality learning and teaching, care of students, and the development of faith and values continues to be expressed at Emmanuel College. The college is highly regarded for the quality of its pastoral care which operates at a whole school level and is aimed at providing a safe, enjoyable and secure environment for students and support when the need for assistance occurs. Counselling services are available at each campus. The Student Leadership Group is the peak body for consultation with students and is led by the House Captains. Learning is supported by a rich ICT environment. At the Senior years we provide over 30 VCE and VET subjects, and the VCAL program, in offering a range of career pathways for our students. Students may also qualify to study a range of VCE and VET units in Year 10. In the Junior years the Connected Learning Units, Stairways program, literacy and numeracy initiatives and Project Days provide further opportunities for student engagement and learning enhancement. Two key programs in staff professional learning focus on Developmental Behaviour Management and Professional Learning Teams. These programs aim for continuous improvement in the operation of well-managed classroom learning environments, and the use of the DataWise cycle in the analysis of data, including NAPLAN, to support improved learning outcomes. These efforts are enhanced by excellent college facilities including Technology, Art and Performing Art Centres, quality learning spaces and learning streets and specialist IT areas.
