Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School has a long and proud history of providing Catholic education since 1895. Catering for a co-educational student base from Kindergarten to Grade 6, the school draws students from Deloraine, Mole Creek, Western Creek, Westbury, Osmaston, Meander, Dunorlan, Elizabeth Town and other small rural communities. The Sisters of Mercy founded and led the school until 1995. Today the school continues to maintain an enviable record in the local community for its service, education and involvement. Its motto 'Where Everyone is Welcomed and Valued' lives out the charism and history of the founding sisters. Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School is a systemic school within the Archdiocese of Hobart. The school has a strong focus on literacy and numeracy and is involved in the ACTION Project, identifying individual student skill level and supporting differentiated classroom practice. Intervention programs and gifted and talented foci support classroom learning. A vibrant performing arts curriculum involves all students who participate with great success in regional and state eisteddfods. Our sports program enables upper primary grades to play inter-school football, netball, hockey and soccer. An equestrian squad and basketball teams compete in regional events.
