The school is situated on the eastern shore of Hobart, adjacent to the beach, with magnificent views of Mt Wellington. Howrah Primary School is presently undergoing a multi million dollar upgrade. Before and after school care and long day care are provided on site. Howrah Primary School enjoys strong community support and involvement. Staff and parents work closely together in partnership to achieve outstanding educational opportunities enabling students to achieve excellent academic and social standards. These opportunities include Music ,Physical Education, Art, French, Computer Studies and Instrumental Music Programs with extension programs in Literacy, Numeracy, French and Art. Literacy and Numeracy Support Programs cater for students with learning needs. All students in Year 6 are given the opportunity to undertake a leadership role within the school.
