St Albans North Primary School is a community focused school providing a supportive environment that enhances the learning, personal growth and wellbeing of all students. Our school, a P-6 school with 185 children, is located in the city of Brimbank, west of Melbourne. Twenty different languages are spoken at home with 74% of students having a language background other than English. This school has 15.87 equivalent full time staff: 2 Principal class, 12 teachers and 2.87 Education Support staff. Our main focus is to improve student outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy. The school will continue to support the Western Metropolitan Region’s Blueprint priorities and goals for school improvement. National Partnerships funding has been used to build teacher capacity in Literacy and Numeracy practice. We believe in a strong community spirit where relationships between students, teachers and families are fostered and supported and our school values of Learning, Relationships, Safety and Equity are actively promoted through our school welfare program. We have developed strong links with our local pre-schools and our secondary colleges, resulting in the development of extensive transition programs. A successful instrumental program demonstrates the partnerships that have flourished.
