Cranbourne South Primary is located in a semi-rural environment approximately 6 kilometres south of Cranbourne. Our enrolment (currently 292 students) is expected to significantly increase over the coming years due major residential developments in our neighbourhood. The school has 37 dedicated and energetic staff committed to their own professional growth and in turn, committed to providing an engaging learning environment for all students. Our major curriculum focus for the next three years will be the introduction of cooperative learning (CL) structures. Cooperative learning is the most extensively researched educational innovation of all time and the single most effective strategy to simultaneously address student achievement and social development. We’re thoroughly committed to radically transforming classroom dynamics through cooperative learning. The benefits include improved student achievement and social development. The CL initiative is supported by our participation in the National Partnerships program. The school’s “Lively Learning Programs” include: art and craft, music, choir, band, camps, sport and physical education, inter-school sport (swimming, athletics, basketball, netball), Life Education, school concert and more. Parent support is very high. We also have a highly committed group of parents who make a significant contribution to the school through their membership of the School Council and the Parents and Friends Association.
