Nowendoc Public School is a small, rural school located in the New England Region on the eastern edge of the tablelands. The school's mission is to ensure that all students, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to achieve their personal best, take responsibility for their future directions, and learn the qualities of honesty, courtesy and courage. It is well-resourced and is keenly supported by the local community and Parents and Citizens Association. Students benefit from funding provided via the CAP equity program. The school is part of the Active After-school Communities Program. Students are encouraged to engage in an annual excursion to Sydney or Canberra as well as annual technology and environmental centre camps within the local region. Students compete in the New England debating programs, local art competitions and the Premier's Reading and Sporting Challenges. Senior students assume a leadership role supported by an annual excursion to the National Young Leaders Conference, and participate in a transition program to the local high school. Overall, the school provides a rich, varied and balanced education and attains excellent results via a focus on individual learning programs.
