Southern Cross Baptist School commenced in 1988 due to a conviction of the people in our church that they had a mandate to disciple their children according to the truths of God's Word. The school places a strong emphasis on the centrality of the Word of God in every part of the curriculum. Our goal is to graduate young people who have a passion to live their lives for the Lord Jesus Christ and please Him in all that they do and say. Recognising that God has made each child uniquely, we seek to tailor the curriculum to his or her individual needs. Our school uses an individualised curriculum that is based upon mastery. Our graduates typically go on to be upstanding citizens in society who are equipped both academically and spiritually to live successful lives. There is a strong peer support culture in school as the older students are encouraged to mentor those who are younger. Serving others is a major emphasis. The students take on community involvement such as regular visitation at a local nursing home. The school is very small with a total population of just over 30 students enabling us to maintain a loving family environment.
