Great Ryrie offers its 560 students a supportive and engaging learning environment that equips children to constructively contribute within an ever changing world, with a focus on collaboration between all members of the school community. We have a strong reputation in our community and we celebrate the cultural diversity of our families while providing quality learning programs in all curriculum areas. In 2011, we have made differentiating the curriculum a strong learning focus for staff and students. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Teachers work effectively in teams to plan and deliver curriculum that caters for the individual needs of students. This school has 41.45 equivalent full-time staff: 2 Principal class, 31.6 Teachers and 7.85 Education Support. The school is well resourced in ICT and has interactive whiteboards in every classroom. Student wellbeing has a high priority and the school offers many programs designed to support students at various stages of their social and emotional development. Great Ryrie has an attractive, safe and stimulating learning environment enhanced by the planned construction of a new Sports and Performance Centre in 2011. Partnerships between parents and staff are encouraged and parents are involved as classroom helpers, in student conferences, school committees and in fundraising and social activities.
