LPPS provides a first rate, broad and balanced education to be enjoyed by children from Preparatory Level to Year 6, in a secure, friendly and caring environment. Individual self-esteem and student potential are developed through a wide variety of comprehensive, direct learning experiences which are both challenging and purposeful. LPPS was founded in 1989 and is situated in the City of Frankston, about 50 kilometres from the city in Melbourne’s South Eastern Suburbs. It is set in spacious and attractive grounds and has a population of 685 students. The school provides a seven-year sequential, integrated program in the eight key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Health and Physical Education, the Arts, Studies of Society and the Environment. We place a strong emphasis on the development of Literacy and Numeracy, the Arts, Information and Communication Technologies and the needs of both gifted students and those at educational risk. In 2010 Langwarrin Park underwent a school review. The community was delighted when it was awarded a Negotiated Review. We believed that this was a suitable reward for the hard work and improvements that had been made over the previous 3 years. Our staff, parents and students had all played a significant part in lifting the results at the school. Rather than rest on our laurels, it was decided to undertake a review according to the dimensions of a diagnostic review. As a result we have been able to formulate a very comprhensive Strategic Plan which wil drive the school over the next four years.
