Bona Vista is a small, rural school with a proud history of educational excellence. It is a dynamic school situated in a picturesque setting south east of Warragul. We currently have 28 students enrolled and anticipate increased numbers for the next few years. Student engagement is real at Bona Vista. Our students are involved in leaning that is meaningful, exciting and innovative. We recognise the importance of individualised learning and offer a balanced, comprehensive curriculum which is supported by a variety of staffing expertise. Our daily curriculum includes literacy, numeracy and integrated studies with specialists providing specific weekly/ fortnightly programs in fitness, gymnastics, performing arts (music, dance, drama, instrumental), physical education, Japanese, library, religious education, art, science and technology. At our school we promote family connectedness. Our students work in a learning environment that encourages opportunities for cross-age mentoring. Such a learning environment results in students helping their peers to succeed in all areas of their development. Parents and community members volunteer their expertise and knowledge to run programs extending the curriculum offered. New facilities last year have improved our teaching spaces and learning opportunities.
