For the 423 students Rosewood Downs Primary school is a modern, well equipped school with open and flexible learning spaces. We are committed to continuous improvement and achieving excellence in teaching and learning at every level. The school has 34 full time staff, comprising 3 Principal Class Officers, 24 Teachers and 9 Education Support Officers. Our programs are designed to cater for the individual needs of a diverse range of students including students with disabilities.The 13 students on the Program for Students with a Disability (PSD) all showed progress at satisfactory or above in achieving their individual goals . A strong curriculum focus on excellence in Literacy & Numeracy was recognised in the 2010 Triennial Review report. To support this work the curriculum will further develop student centred learning and the transferrance of skill through the development of a differentiated curriculum around the Performing Arts in Years 5&6 and the Environment & Sustainability in Years 3&4. An emphasis upon critical and analytic thinking strategies (a partnership with the DeBono Institute has begun) and a strong commitment to the development and integration of ICT across the curriculum further combine to provide an exciting and flexible learning program designed to meet students' individual needs. A large community multipurpose basketball stadium was built during 2010 and the school continues to develop its facilities through a building cooperative to finance a technology centre and children's kitchen and garden program.
