Our motto “Together we can for every child, every day, in every classroom” highlights a student focused culture of 21 century learning. Our school has a population of 490 students and located in Hampton Park, a suburb in Melbourne’s south-eastern growth corridor approximately 10 kms from Dandenong. The school caters for a wide range of social, economic and cultural backgrounds. Our core business is to teach Literacy and Numeracy and to improve student learning outcomes. Our teachers core values of respect,passion,enthusiam and resilience shape the curriculum plan for learning. Our students use “Inquiry Learning” to provide developmentally appropriate learning activities that value and respect the individuality of each child and their different learning styles. Our multi-media program located in the new River Gum Performing Arts Centre shapes the kind of inspiring learning our students get and captivates our young learners in communicating their thoughts and interests making it relevant to learning in both Literacy and Numeracy. In our school we develop partnerships for learning between the community, school and staff. A sport complex comprising of a gymnasium, running track, sporting oval and a community playground funded by the City of Casey. Our School Council recognises community partnerships for learning with our “Gumnuts” the schools Parents and Friends Association.The teaching and learning environment is supportive and productive through building positive relationships through knowing each student. Our school community is both friendly and welcoming.
