St. Peter Apostle Primary School, Hoppers Crossing, is a large school in the western suburbs of Melbourne. The school originally established in 1973 and maintains a strong commitment to the core values of faith, compassion and fortitude. At St. Peter Apostle, the beliefs and practices of our Catholic faith are embedded in every aspect of our lives. We provide opportunities for our students to recognise God's presence in their lives, in those around them and in their environment. Our teaching content is drawn from the Religious Education Frameworks, based on the "Coming to Know, Worship and Love". The students regularly participate in prayer and liturgy. Parents, family and friends are always welcome to attend these celebrations. Our learning and teaching programs are aimed at improving student learning outcomes. We encourage our students in setting personal learning goals and evaluating their progress at each stage of the learning cycle. Exploring and analysing in its many forms enables students to communicate, build relationships, be informed, think critically and be entertained. We aim to develop mathematical skills and knowledge that will allow students to deal confidently and competently with real life mathematical experiences. We aim to provide open-ended activities that include the use of technology and hands-on manipulative, encouraging co-operative learning skills. Weekly specialist programs include ICT, Italian, Physical Education and Performing Arts are indicative of the rich educational program on offer.
