Burpengary State School is located in the Moreton Bay Shire Council area just south of Caboolture. The school was established in 1876, and today is one of the larger state primary schools in Queensland, with an enrolment in excess of 1000 children. The school is classified as Band 11 due to its size, diversity of the student population, and the specialist programs, including those for the academically talented (Years 3 to 7), an intensive LOTE program offering both dual enrolment in French and Japanese for academically able children and single LOTE studies. The school is a fully accredited International School, accepting fee-paying students. Over the past decade, the school has built a reputation for its consistently strong academic results in NAPLAN and State tests. Furthermore, it offers quality programs in the Arts, Instrumental Music and Choral performance. An Annual Arts Excellence Concert is held each September.
